What is sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive medical treatment that consists of injecting a sclerosing agent into the affected vein in order to close it in a controlled way.

The practice’s service portfolio covers it for spider veins and small varicose veins, and places it exclusively on the legs. For other areas it refers to Vasculaze Max.

A vascular lesion requires a prior medical assessment. This page does not allow it to be identified, nor which treatment applies to be decided.

How it works

Closing the vessel in a controlled way.

  1. Prior assessment

The doctor assesses the area and determines whether the treatment is indicated.

  2. Injection of the agent

The sclerosing agent is injected into the affected vein in order to close it in a controlled way.

  3. Progressive absorption

The portfolio states that the treated vessel is absorbed progressively and that circulation is redirected towards healthy veins.

Sessions, recovery and results

Sessions

The number of sessions is established individually after the medical assessment.

Recovery

The course afterwards depends on the treated area and on each patient’s characteristics. The doctor provides the aftercare instructions in consultation.

Results

The result and how it develops depend on the vessel treated, on the area and on the individual response of each patient.

The indication, the protocol and the results that can be expected are determined individually after a medical assessment.
